So that's how they do it... ROBOTS!
I need to preface the following love letter by saying that I have not been paid or encouraged to write this. The following post is 100% my self-declared, expert-online-shopper opinion. I am writing this because I am genuinely fascinated. Ready go:
So, I’m sure all working professionals and moms can agree with me here: there is just not enough time in the day to run all of our errands. If I had the time, I could zoom around town looking for the best deals on all of my family’s basic needs. I could run to CVS for my face wash and lotion, head to Target for tp, paper towels, diapers, and okay maybe a much needed top (or five), and then off to the craft store to stock up on construction paper for my busy finger-painting toddler. But let’s face it - I have much better things to do with my time and it is a big waste of gas. Thus, I have turned to excessive online shopping, and Diapers.com and their shops have changed.my.life. No really. I can now spend my day doing the things that matter to my family: actually finishing those 27 loads of laundry, meal planning, paying the bills, taking my daughter to gymnastics and to playdates at the park and finally mopping the darn kitchen floor.. super exciting life, I know. But really, I love it. At 4:30pm I realize, “ugh we are out of diapers, tp, finger paint, swifter juice (that’s what it’s called, right?), dog food, and we need another extension cord”. I go on Diapers.com, fill my cart and get a great deal doing it - search the web for coupon codes, enter them, free shipping - awesome, hit purchase, and move on to figuring out what to feed my family for dinner. No. Joke. before I finish my coffee the following morning I hear a thump on my doorstep and my package has arrived. WHAT!? How? No really. HOW!? This magic they call Diapers.com is just that, MAGIC! How it is possible for them to do it. How did I get my shipment SO fast? Do they have a factory full of little elves? This is an operations paragon. I had to do some research.
I’m an engineer at heart so my research is really really technical and in-depth. Do you want to know what I did? I….. googled it. “diapers.com distribution” and voila!!! ROBOTS! They use ROBOTS! I should have known. Diapers.com utilizes an intricate system of robots to fulfill orders by finding items and even packaging them in the most efficiently-sized boxes. I found this 1 minute and 49 second video completely fascinating. Okay, so I know a lot of retailers are now using these awesome robotic systems to create extremely efficient operations, but somehow Diaper.com has just really figured it out. I guess it’s probably a combination between these robots, their free shipping, and their awesome customer service. It has changed my online shopping expectations forever. To other retailers, I won’t name names (you’re welcome), who have failed me - save money on fulfillment and use robots, spend money on customer service and use funny, friendly people who can actually help me.
Well done Diapers.com, well done. And here is the kicker, Diapers.com is one of LolaKnows affiliate networks so when searching for the recall status of a product, you can also compare prices on LolaKnows and choose where to buy between Diapers.com and other retailers and you can make your purchase right there. From my experience, Diapers.com is usually one of the cheapest.
I don’t mess around with mediocre retailers. I am super critical, and Diapers.com, you are smart, you treat me well, and you have always exceeded my expectations. I tell my husband daily how much I love you. Diapers.com, I love you.
